Appointments and estimates
A website request is not a confirmed appointment. Tech Genie will confirm availability, service area, arrival window, and any diagnostic or travel fee. Estimates may change if hidden conditions, parts, licensing, cabling, or additional labor are discovered; material changes will be discussed before proceeding.
Authorization and safety
You confirm that you own the equipment or are authorized to request work. Back up important data when possible and disclose hazards or business-critical systems. Tech Genie will request approval before changes that may interrupt service, delete queues or settings, reset networking, modify security controls, or otherwise create material risk.
Accounts and diagnostics
Keep portal sign-in links and devices secure. Diagnostic collection requires consent and is limited to approved technical checks. Keep credentials, recovery keys, payment card numbers, and personal file contents out of booking forms and support notes.
Attended live remote support
Live screen sharing and control require a separate attended session. You confirm that you own the computer or are authorized to grant access, approve the visible session on the computer, remain present, and may stop the session at any time. Your authorization is limited to the active attended session. The support app can provide clipboard and file transfer, terminal and tunnel access, camera or microphone/audio access, remote printing, privacy mode, input blocking, remote restart, and lock/logon-screen control. Initial session consent is not blanket permission to use those non-automatic high-impact capabilities. Tech Genie must explain the exact action and get your fresh affirmative approval immediately before each use; you may refuse. Normal desktop connections require your visible click. Lock/logon access may use only the current temporary password after your separate fresh yes on the verified live call and an exact-device check; Tech Genie never stores it. Session/screen recording, automatic recording, permanent-password changes, trusted-device pairing, and hidden or unattended access stay disabled. Close private material first and pause or end the session before entering passwords, MFA codes, payment information, or other sensitive data.
Before launch and connection, Tech Genie will disclose the configured automatic behaviors: both sides clear clipboards because an initial sync may occur; Windows may request elevation; wallpaper may be temporarily removed; the computer locks when the session ends; 60 minutes of user inactivity may disconnect the session; and automatic updates may occur where the platform supports them.
Permission to view or control the screen is not blanket permission to make risky changes. Tech Genie will still request separate approval before resets, account or security changes, removals, purchases, data deletion, or other work that may materially interrupt service or create risk.
Parts, warranties, and third parties
Manufacturer and third-party services remain subject to their own terms. Parts and workmanship warranty details, if any, will appear on the estimate or invoice. Tech Genie cannot guarantee recovery of lost data or uninterrupted operation of equipment already failing.
