Computer Backup Setup in Los Angeles
Set up a backup for the files you cannot afford to lose. We help choose a drive or cloud service, configure what gets copied and when, and test restoring selected files on your Windows PC or Mac.

Choose the backup destination
We review how much data needs protection, how quickly it changes, and how you would recover after a lost or broken computer. An external drive, a cloud backup or both may be appropriate. Storage purchases and subscription charges are shown separately from setup labor.
Keep control of your storage and account
The backup destination and recovery credentials stay under your control. You enter passwords yourself. Tech Genie does not store your personal backup on its website or business database, and a completed setup does not require keeping your computer at our location.
Test restoring files
After configuration, we check the initial backup and restore selected sample files to a separate location. If a large upload is still running, the report says what remains pending and how completion will be checked. A successful setup screen alone is not treated as a verified backup.
Know who checks the backup after setup
The setup notes list included folders, exclusions, frequency, storage limits, version history and restore steps. They also say who checks for failures. Daily monitoring is not included in a one-time setup. Cloud sync can copy an accidental deletion to other devices, so we review its recovery limits.
Before you book
Do I need to buy a drive?
Possibly. We can assess a suitable drive you already own, or quote new storage. A cloud option has its own subscription and internet requirements. None of those costs are silently included in labor.
Can you set up Time Machine or a Windows backup?
Yes, subject to device compatibility, storage health, available capacity and the files you want protected. We review the destination and restore procedure with you.
Will you monitor it every day?
Only under a separately agreed ongoing service. The one-time visit includes setup, the agreed verification and handoff instructions; it does not promise continuous monitoring.
